Dr. Michelle Oyen is a researcher in Cambridge University’s engineering department. Her focus is in bioengineering and she heads a lab specialised in the mechanical behaviour in biological materials. Part of her work involves trying to recreate biological material like eggshell and bone in hopes of applying it to alternative uses, like architecture. She holds degrees from Michigan State University and the University of Minnesota and was a research scientist at the University of Virginia before moving to Cambridge.
